Shark Fin Soup on Hawaii Island

We just received this link to the menu from the restaurant Kirin, which is at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. There is a "Shark's Fin" category on the menu.

Do Oahu friends, including NOAA, HIMB shark lab, UH, Hawaii Reef Check, and OAT know about this issue?

Hi, thanks so much for your post! The Animal Welfare Institute maintains a list of restaurants selling shark fin soup in the US and encourages consumers to avoid them. I will add this restaurant to our list and send them a letter asking that they stop selling the soup. Please also contact them and encourage them to stop selling shark fin products. FYI - I noticed that they also have locations in Honolulu. Here is the link to our list: http://www.awionline.org/ht/d/ContentDetails/i/1475. I'll include HI on there shortly!
